How to rename “folders.dbx” file

Here are the steps that help you rename the “folders.dbx” file:

1.Close MS Outlook Express.
2.Click Start > Run.
3.Copy the below given location in the Open field.
C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{B28D7866-690C-4356-9073-BA696A61D6CB}\Microsoft\Outlook Express
4.Click the OK button.
5.Right-click the “folders.dbx” file and select Rename.
6.Change the name of the file to “folders.old.”
7.Start MS Outlook Express.

When you start MS Outlook Express, the original “folders.dbx” file will be recreated and this file should be working. This is how to perform Outlook Express repair. However, the method described above works in most of the cases, we cannot make it sure that it will work in all cases.
